About Adele Taylor

Adele trained in Sheffield and received a degree in silversmithing and jewellery from Sheffield Polytechnic, before establishing her jewellery business soon after with a grant from the Princes Youth Trust. She has since won multiple awards and done noteworthy commissions. She now resides as one of the top jewellery designers we showcase at Armed & Gorgeous and we have been working alongside Adele for years.

Adele’s jewellery style

Adele’s design isn’t your run-of-the-mill. She’s always been interested in the natural interplay of different colours of metal, including naturally occurring and chemically altered. She is a big fan of oxidised silver and as a result, her jewellery can take on a more grungy vibe, compared to some of our other designers. The working properties of the media have a significant and creative influence on the final outcome of her jewellery. To quote Adele Taylor “I like the way you can draw on the surface by stamping and embossing. I have always been interested in surface pattern and texture. and I find acid etching a wonderful way of drawing directly onto the metal”.

Adele Taylor Inspiration

According to Adele,  A recent trip to Iceland sparked her growing interest in texture and patterns. The vast Icelandic landscape, alongside its muted colour palette, has been a great inspiration to her. When Adele is not handcrafting jewellery, she is teaching classes for jewellery making. She believes this is an integral part of her creative process. Adele is one of the most popular in our shop.
