Special orders and Ring sizing
Ring sizing can be tricky business, as the size you need may vary depending on the style, design and thickness of ring. Other reasons your size may differ are those such as the temperature of your hands at the time of measuring them - cold hands often measure smaller than when your hands are warm.
When you are looking to purchase or order a ring, we recommend popping in to the shop so that a member of our team can assist you with sizing your finger - we have a few different sizing tools which can help make the process a lot easier. If you have an existing ring that fits the same finger you wish to purchase a new one for, we often suggest bringing it with you as this means that we can use it to help size the new ring......
.....This is definitely advised if you are purchasing a ring as a surprise gift for someone else or if you are planning on popping the question to your partner and keeping it under wraps. We know that if this is the case then your partner may not already wear a ring on that finger, therefore try and sneakily borrow a ring which you know fits on a middle finger or on the ring finger of the right hand, and we may be able to go up or down a size or two to get it as close as we can to her correct ring finger size.
Worried about getting it wrong? Don't panic, we won't let you go away without some good advice on the ring you are purchasing - we will let you know at the time as to whether the chosen ring can be obtained in a different size if the one you purchase turns out to be incorrect or whether a resize may be the best way forward so that if it doesn't fit on the day, you aren't stuck with a ring that can't be worn!
Ring sizing tips:
1. Warm up your fingers before measuring – if possible, measure at the end of the day when your fingers will be at their largest. Avoid measuring your finger size when your hands are cold as they will be at least a size smaller.
2. Your ring should fit your finger comfortably - being snug enough so that it will not fall off, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle.
3. Rings with a thicker band will feel tighter than a thin band. For these purchases we normally recommend going up a full size when ordering.
